Archdiocese of Louisville

Explore 113 Catholic parishes, updated schedules, and livestream options across the diocese.

The Archdiocese of Louisville traces its roots to 1808, when Bardstown became the seat of the first Catholic diocese west of the Allegheny Mountains. The see relocated to Louisville in 1841 and was elevated to an archdiocese in 1937, now covering 24 counties in north-central Kentucky with about 111 parishes. The Cathedral of the Assumption in downtown Louisville is the mother church, and the Abbey of Gethsemani in Trappist is one of the most visited Trappist monasteries in the United States.
