The community is known for being very warm and welcoming, with a strong sense of love from the Treme community.

Services can be packed, especially during events like the Satchmo Festival, where the Jazz mass offers incredible energy.

The church is historically significant as the oldest Black Catholic Church in America and the home parish of Louis Armstrong and Blessed Henriette Delille.

While the main church is under repair from hurricane damage, services are currently held in the old school assembly room.
