Archdiocese of New Orleans
Explore 127 Catholic parishes, up-to-date schedules, and livestream options in the diocese.
The Archdiocese of New Orleans traces its origins to 1793 as the Diocese of Louisiana and the Two Floridas, making it the second oldest diocese in the United States after Baltimore. It was elevated to an archdiocese in 1850 and now covers 8 civil parishes in southeastern Louisiana. St. Louis Cathedral, its seat in the French Quarter, stands on a site first dedicated as a parish church in 1718 — the year New Orleans was founded. About 127 parishes serve the archdiocese today.
