Diocese of Crookston

The Diocese of Crookston was erected on December 31, 1909, carved from the Diocese of Duluth to serve the Catholic communities of northwestern Minnesota. It spans 14 counties — from the Red River Valley east through lake country to Beltrami and Hubbard — covering roughly 17,000 square miles of largely rural, agricultural land. The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Crookston anchors the diocese, which today serves 67 parishes.
