Diocese of Gary
Explore 66 Catholic parishes, up-to-date schedules, and livestream options in the diocese.
Established on December 10, 1956, when it was carved out of the Diocese of Fort Wayne, the Diocese of Gary covers the four counties of northwest Indiana — Lake, Porter, La Porte, and Starke. Its cathedral is the Cathedral of the Holy Angels in Gary. With about 66 parishes serving a largely working-class and industrial region that grew up around the steel mills of Lake Michigan's southern shore, the diocese reflects the immigrant Catholic heritage that built one of America's great industrial corridors.
