Explore 111 Catholic parishes, up-to-date schedules, and livestream options in the diocese.
The Diocese of Rockford was erected in 1908 by Pope Pius X from territory of the Archdiocese of Chicago, covering 11 counties across northern Illinois from the Mississippi River to the western suburbs of Chicago. Its 110 parishes are anchored by the Cathedral of Saint Peter in Rockford, consecrated in 1925. St. Mary Shrine, whose cornerstone was laid in 1886 and now served by the Institute of Christ the King, draws Catholics from across the region for the traditional Latin Mass.
