"Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time" - Thomas Merton We invite you to explore the artist within you, to learn to hear the Holy Spirit guiding you towards your creativity. Don't be shy! This is a ministry where the slogan "No experience necessary" holds true and is a socially supportive and safe space to explore, create, and grow. We will learn and laugh and be joyful together through art. And if you just want to show up and paint rocks, this is the place for you! Rocks and paint will always be on hand.

Please Welcome Our New Associate Pastor, Fr. Joe Kim

Fr. Joe Kim was born in Orange, California, and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy with a minor in Psychology from St. John's Seminary & College in Camarillo before entering the Conventual Franciscan Friars of the St. Joseph of Cupertino Province. He continued his priestly formation at the Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology in Berkeley and St. Patrick's Seminary in Menlo Park, where he completed a Master of Divinity. He was ordained to the priesthood in 2011.

Throughout his ministry, Fr. Joe has served as a Pastoral Associate at St. Thomas Aquinas Cathedral in Reno, Nevada; Pastor of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Hermosa Beach; Director of Campus Ministry at the USC Caruso Catholic Center; and Campus Minister at the University Catholic Center at UCLA. He also serves as a chaplain in the U.S. Air Force, assigned to the 8th Fighter Wing based in Kunsan, South Korea.

Known for his joyful spirit and energetic approach to ministry, Fr. Joe has a special passion for accompanying young adults during the formative years of their lives, helping them encounter Christ and grow as His disciples. We are delighted to welcome him as the new Associate Pastor of St. Lawrence Martyr Parish.
