Pastoral Message: Vocations Awareness Weekend

According to my count, the family of Our Lady of Lourdes includes 15 religious, deacons, and priests who have been or are currently in active ministry around the Archdiocese of Miami and beyond. It would be wonderful to have them all together one day to share their stories and to answer our questions about the discernment of their call and what finally moved them to say "yes." I am certain that our prayers for them each week through the Vocational Chalice visiting our homes certainly made a difference.

And I have no doubt that they still do. Still today a number of young men and women who feel a stirring in their hearts are in various stages of discernment. Another support along the way of discernment is vocation awareness weekends and come and see experiences. Our Carmelite Sisters have come and see experiences scheduled throughout the year, as does the Vocations Office of the Archdiocese of Miami.

We publish invitations to these experiences in our bulletin and on our website. This week it is the Archdiocese of Miami who is offering a Vocations Awareness Weekend for those who would like to know more about the call to be a priest and the ministry of priests. The ad with more information about the weekend and how to register is below. I highly encourage anyone whose heart has been stirred to take this next step. incluye a 15 religiosos, diáconos y sacerdotes que han estado o están actualmente en ministerio activo en la Arquidiócesis de Miami y más allá. Sería maravilloso reunirlos a todos algún día para que compartieran sus historias y respondieran a nuestras preguntas sobre el discernimiento de su vocación y lo que finalmente los llevó a decir "sí". Estoy seguro de que nuestras oraciones semanales por ellos a través del Cáliz Vocacional que visita nuestros hogares sin duda marcaron la diferencia.

Y no tengo ninguna duda de que siguen haciéndolo. Aún hoy, muchos jóvenes, hombres y mujeres, que sienten una inquietud en sus corazones se encuentran en diversas etapas de discernimiento. Otro apoyo en el camino del discernimiento son los fines de semana de concienciación vocacional y las experiencias de "ven y ve". Nuestras hermanas carmelitas organizan experiencias de "ven y ve" a lo largo de todo el año, al igual que la Oficina de Vocaciones de la Arquidiócesis de Miami.
