A Letter from the Pastor: The Eucharist

In our world, which is hurting and wounded, Christ is our healer. He does not stand far away but is close to us. Jesus chose to be present to us in the Eucharist – his body, blood, soul and divinity. He institutes the Eucharist at the last supper and invites us to be healed and strengthened by eating his body and drinking his blood. Just as food gives us physical nourishment, the Eucharist gives us spiritual nourishment. If our lives are centered on Christ in the Eucharist, we will be strong in faith and lack nothing. It is also a sacrament of unity that gathers all believers in the celebration of the Eucharist.

We are also invited to adore Christ in the Eucharist in Eucharistic adoration. Adoring the Lord in his physical presence helps us receive special graces and grow in our relationship with Jesus Christ. In Eucharistic adoration, we can encounter the Lord in a special and powerful way, which can be life changing. As we celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ this Sunday, I pray that your life may always be centered on the Eucharist.

Have a Blessed Week!

Your Servant in Christ, Fr. Derek

Padre Derek
