As you prepare for Mass, we invite you to open to page 835 in "Source & Summit" where you will find Devotional Prayers. Welcome, if you are not Catholic, please feel free to join in the motions and songs of Mass. Catholic liturgy tries to impact all of your senses in order to impact your soul. So the motions of standing, sitting, kneeling, and repeat; all of which are intentional. Take in everything happening in front of you. When it comes time for Communion. It is important for you to know that we believe that the words of Jesus at the Last Supper work through the priest at Mass in order to change the bread and wine into the real presence of Jesus', body, blood, soul, and divinity. Therefore, in order to receive the consecrated host (known as the Eucharist) in the Catholic Church the recipient must be a professed and practicing Catholic. For now, please do not take Communion, but instead come up for a blessing which is indicated by crossing your arms over your chest and head bowed.
