Dear church community, Monsignor Edward and church staff extend a warm welcome to BETHLEHEM WOOD CARVING LOUIE on the weekend of Feb 28 and March 1 for the mission of olive wood sale religious items from the holy land to help and support the Catholic Christians there to remain living there and providing for their home. There are a lot of reasons to support this mission through the visit. Your help ensures that the churches and holy sites remain places of Christian worship. Without the indigenous Catholic presence in the holy land, these places would turn into museums. They are our brothers and sister in Christ. They are suffering and living conditions in the holy land are dire as a result of the border closures that restrict freedom of movement. May we ask you again to support Louie and his mission? This year, our Lenten Almsgiving focuses on nonperishable food items to benefit St. Al's Food Pantry. They are so grateful for all donations, but they cannot accept expired food or dented cans. The Order of Christian Initiation for Adults (OCIA—formerly RCIA) is the Catholic Church's year-long process of faith formation and initiation. If you are considering joining the Catholic Church at Easter Vigil 2027 or simply wish to deepen your understanding of the Catholic faith, St. Isidore invites you to inquire about OCIA. Due March 2nd 2026 Brick Memorial Garden Time for brick orders for the Memorial to the Unborn located in front of the Rectory. If you have suffered the heartbreaking loss of a pre-born infant, this is a way to memorialize that precious little one. Orders taken through March 2 to be planted in May, the month of Our Blessed Mother. The cost is $30/ brick for 3 lines of 14 characters each (42 characters total). Thanks to the 15 men who gathered for our recent meeting on Saturday, February 14th. We dug into the 5th leadership principal of COMMUNICATION and why it is critical for becoming a great leader. In addition, we tackled the understanding of VOCATION, from the Catechism, and discussed how realizing our vacation is critical not only for ourselves but those near us. Once again, I am personally challenging other men of the parish to please consider joining this group because I know you will deeply benefit from hearing other men's opinions, outlooks and perspectives on leadership and family. Our next meeting is Saturday, March 28th, beginning @ 7:00am, in the lower level of church. We are looking at the 6th principle of leadership, LEARNING AGILITY. We will work on PRAYER, again as described in the Catechism, its profound effect on us as Catholic men. We tentatively decided to go until 8 AM but after our last meeting, many men conveyed they would like to go longer, perhaps until 8:30am. This was based on the amount of men there, letting everyone have an opportunity to speak, which is critical to this type of meeting, and going a little deeper and richer into the teaching of the catechism, all difficult to do within one hour. Any men who feel they need to leave at 8 o'clock it's no problem and I am willing to stay later for those men who want to continue to discuss. And if we can't tempt you to attend with good discussion, then we'll try with coffee, donuts, bagels, cream cheese, juice, and fellowship. Blessings Deacon Jim Thorndill
