Pastoral Message Regarding IHM School

As we continue to move forward with our plans for the school next year I want to give people a reminder that it is ok to grieve - this is certainly a sad and difficult reality. The school has been part of this community for decades and so much good work has been done through it. Unfortunately, we can no longer sustain this specific ministry in its current form at IHM. That is certainly cause for grief.

But we do not grieve without hope. There is a deep peace permeating this decision and I am confident that God is working through it. As Jesus teaches us, I am the true vine, and my Father is the vine grower. He takes away every branch in me that does not bear fruit, and every one that does he prunes so that it bears more fruit (Jn 15:1-2). There is a pruning happening, but we trust that God is working through this to bring about good in our lives, in our parish, and in our community.

Please continue to pray for our school community, our parish community, and good discernment as we continue to move forward.
