Lenten Practices: Prayer, Fasting, Almsgiving

Prayer idea for this week is to attend Eucharistic Adoration at St. Brigid on Monday in the church anytime between 9:30 AM and 9 PM. Suggested Prayer for this week… "ACT OF FAITH"

O my God, I firmly believe that you are one God in three divine Persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I believe that your divine Son became man and died for our sins and that he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe these and all the truths which the Holy Catholic Church teaches because you have revealed them who are eternal truth and wisdom, who can neither deceive nor be deceived. In this faith I intend to live and die. Amen.

Fasting suggestion this week is to spend 24 hours without going on social media for entertainment purposes. Each time you want to check it, pray "Oh Jesus, I surrender myself to you, take care of everything. Amen."

Almsgiving suggestion for this week is to clean out a closet or drawer and donate the items you no longer need to a charity for the poor. pray + fast + give

In Memoriam: Darren Schnegg and Larry Kibler

Parishioner Darren Schnegg, husband of parishioner Lori Schnegg, and father of parishioners Anne and Noah Schnegg, passed away on December 18, 2025. Darren and Lori were married for 33 years and family meant everything to him. He was also a devoted member of Saint Brigid. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially cheering on the Buckeyes and enjoying a good cup of coffee. He cherished his time with his family and his two dogs, Gus and Cooper, and loved traveling on family vacations. He tried to live life to the fullest. He was generous with his time and heart, volunteering at Dublin Methodist Hospital, where his kindness touched many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A Mass of Resurrection was celebrated at St. Brigid of Kildare on January 16, 2026. Parishioner Larry Kibler, husband of parishioner Karen Kibler, passed away on January 1, 2026. Larry and Karen were married for 47 years and were blessed with two children, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren, all of whom Larry loved very much. Larry was also a devout Catholic with a strong faith in God. He enjoyed a wide range of hobbies and interests, including a deep appreciation for the outdoors. He loved hunting, bird watching, and mushroom hunting. A Mass of Resurrection was celebrated at St. Brigid of Kildare on January 9, 2026. May their souls, and all the souls of the faithful departed, rest in eternal peace.
