Welcome Father Alex! Meet Father Alex, our new Parochial Vicar

I was born and raised in Ennis, Texas, a town known for its National Polka Festival and beautiful bluebonnets. As a proud fifth-generation Ennisite, I am deeply grateful for the experience of growing up in a small community rich in both Czech and Mexican culture. I have two brothers: my older brother, Austin, who, along with his wife, is raising their three children — Liam, Oliver, and Hallie — and my twin brother, Evan, who recently welcomed his first child, Frank. My vocation to the priesthood began at The Pines Catholic Camp in the piney woods of East Texas. There, through the sacraments and the witness of authentic Christian community, I first encountered the living God in a profound way and resolved to follow Him wherever He would lead. Faith in Christ opened for me an entirely new horizon of life and purpose, and at thirteen years old I first sensed a call to the priesthood. I have never looked back. After graduating from Ennis High School in 2014, I entered Holy Trinity Seminary in Irving, Texas. In 2018, after completing a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, Bishop Edward Burns sent me to Rome to continue my studies at the Pontifical North American College. There I earned a Baccalaureate in Sacred Theology (STB) from the Pontifical Gregorian University and a Licentiate in Sacred Theology (STL) from the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (the Angelicum), where I wrote my dissertation on "Secular Ideologies as Pseudo-Religions." I was ordained to the priesthood on May 20, 2023. Since ordination, I have served at Mary Immaculate Parish in Farmers Branch and at Christ the King Parish in Dallas. I am deeply grateful for those assignments and excited for this next chapter of priestly ministry at St. Francis of Assisi.
