Election of Parish Trustee (First Notice) The Charter of St. Dominic Catholic Parish states that our congregation will have two trustees serving as officers of the parish to assist in attending to its affairs. Trustees serve two-year terms. Kathy Hoffman serves as the Trustee-Treasurer and Joe King as the Trustee-Secretary. I am very grateful for the help Kathy and Joe have given me over the past year. Kathy's current term ends on June 30, 2026. After 9 years of service, Kathy has decided to pursue other opportunities but has agreed to serve until a successor is named. As Pastor, I am asked to present a qualified candidate to the parish. With her permission, I am nominating Christine Derra for a two-year term as Trustee-Treasurer. The parish charter allows any practicing, baptized and confirmed, member of the parish who is at least 25 years old, to place their name in nomination. This must be done in writing and be accompanied by signatures of at least 10 practicing adult parish members. Nominations must be received in the Parish Center by July 28, 2026. Take a moment to sit with today's Gospel: Matthew 11:25-30. Ponder these questions today or throughout the week. Allow the Spirit to work in you, with you, and through you. - 1. Why do you think Jesus speaks in parables? How do you understand this parable? - 2. How can you find rest in the Lord when you are weary? What do you need from him to carry on? - 3. Visualize, what does that mean to take my burdens, hand them off, and take on his? - 4. Read verse 25. How can we become like children to have the Father reveal to us His wisdom? - 5. Why does the Lord offer us his yoke to take on? What shape and size is your yoke? What makes up your burdens? - 6. Read verse 29. What does it mean when Jesus says, "Learn from me"? What are we to learn? What does it mean to be meek and humble of heart in our spiritual lives and in our daily lives?
