A Message from Fr. Brian

Dear Friends: As I am sure many of you know, I took a serious fall while on vacation the week of June 14th and completely dislocated the socket in my left shoulder and fractured the upper bone in my left arm. I had emergency surgery at the Marshfield Clinic (a great facility) and am home recovering. The big problem – in addition to pain – is that my left arm cannot be used right now and I am left-handed. I assure you that I am getting by OK. This could take up to 8 weeks. I am doing in-home therapy and am connected with the orthopedic department at SSM. So, I have to ride this out and do what they tell me.

For the next few weeks, Fr. Jay, Msgr. Bakke and Fr. Mike Resop will be handling the Masses and sacramental needs of QP. My thanks to all three for really stepping up on this.

While not in the office daily, I am keeping up with administrative matters. The office and school staffs have been great in keeping things running. Thank your parish and school staffs. They are such a strong point in what makes us a community of faith.

Thanks to the parish for your support in having our trustees continue in their roles for another two years. They are both doing a great job in support of our community.

I am typing this with one hand, so pardon any typos. I'll keep you posted on my progress. At least I won't have to worry about my golf scores for the rest of the summer.

Blessings. Our Lady Queen of Peace, pray for us.

Fr. Brian

Prayer list

Prayer for Independence Day

Father of all nations and ages,

We recall the day when our country claimed its place among the family of nations; for what has been achieved we give you thanks, for the work that still remains we ask your help, and as you have called us from many peoples to be one nation, grant that, under your providence, our country may share your blessings with all the peoples of the earth.

Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
