Road to Renewal Update from Fr. Tim

Hopefully the days of summer offer all of us a little additional time for housekeeping and expanding our horizons. An opportunity to prepare for the busier times of fall and winter. Being intentional now can save unnecessary frustration and anger in the future. We are trying to do that with our family, taking an intentional look at how we do what we do. We hope this housekeeping now allows our doors to be opened to greater growth and evangelizing. Prayerfully consider registering the young people in your life for Vacation Bible School, Faith Formation classes, and Youth or Young Adult ministry. Let us know whom we should be bringing along with us on this journey, and how we can do better. Southtowns Catholic School wants to see you in the fall. Visit our website or give a call for more information regarding tours, tuition assistance, and registration. Please join us at the annual Saint John Paul II Lawn Fete happening Friday, July 17 through Sunday, July 19. Each day offers live music, food, drinks, kid games, and more. You can visit our website to find a complete schedule of events and more information.

"Without morals a republic cannot subsist any length of time; they therefore who are decrying the Christian religion, whose morality is so sublime and pure...are undermining the solid foundation of morals, the best security for the duration of free governments." [Charles Carroll - signer of the Declaration of Independence, November 4, 1800.]

The only Catholic to sign the Declaration of Independence was not present for the vote but insisted and was allowed to sign. He had a classic European Education with a strong Church understanding, he offered his life and wealth for those ideals. He lived a moral life and challenges all of us to be moral in our civil life. In other words Put God First, strive for His Way! Happy Independence Day America, we pray for you and each other.
