Pastoral Message: Holy Rosary Vincentians & Living Water
L IV ING WATER
In John 4:5–42, Jesus stops at Jacob's well, a revered site on the West Bank. Tired from His journey, He asks a Samaritan woman for water. Surprised she replies, "How can you, a Jew, ask me, a Samaritan woman, for a drink?" Jesus answers, "If you knew the gift of God and who is saying to you, 'Give me a drink,' you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water."
This Gospel passage highlights respect, dignity, and the breaking of social barriers. Jesus' willingness to engage with someone marginalized by society reveals the compassionate and inclusive nature of His ministry. As Vincentians, we are called to reflect on our own interactions especially with those in need—so that we may foster deeper understanding and genuine connection.
