Pastoral MessageMarch 1, 2026

From the Pastor's Desk

As you can clearly see, construction has begun. While the noise, dust, and temporary inconveniences are not always pleasant, they are signs of something hopeful growth, renewal, and preparation for the future of our parish.

Whenever there is construction, there is disruption. Parking may feel tighter. Entrances may shift. Familiar routines may change. I want to thank you in advance for your patience and flexibility. These temporary adjustments are helping us build something that will serve our parish family for many years to come.

Because of the construction, our daily Masses will be celebrated in the banquet hall for the time being. I know that praying in a diƯerent space can feel unfamiliar. We are creatures of habit, and sacred spaces matter deeply to us. But it is good to remember something important: the holiness of the Mass does not depend on the building. Christ becomes present wherever the Eucharist is celebrated. Whether in a cathedral, a mission church, a hospital room, or a banquet hall it is the same sacrifice, the same Lord, the same grace.

In fact, there is something beautiful about gathering in a simpler setting. It reminds us that the Church is not first a structure of brick and stone it is a people. It is you. It is the community that gathers to pray, to listen to the Word, and to receive the Body and Blood of Christ.

These months will invite us to practice a little patience, a little flexibility, and perhaps even a renewed appreciation for our church when we return to it fully. Construction always looks messy before it looks beautiful. That is true in buildings and often true in our spiritual lives as well.

Please continue to pray for the safety of the workers, for smooth progress, and for all who are aƯected by the changes. And please continue to come to daily Mass. Your presence and prayer are what truly make this parish beautiful. Thank you for your understanding, your generosity, and your love for this parish.

-Fr. Mark Dreves
